There are distilleries all over Scotland with new ones popping up all the time. Here are a few in our area:
Adelphi – The Ardnamurchan Distillery opened in July 2014 to begin the process of producing what will eventually become world-class single malts. The distillery sits on the shores of Loch Sunart, in what has to be one of the most spectacular locations of any distillery in the country.
Ben Nevis – Ben Nevis Distillery is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. The distillery is nestled at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, which has a summit elevation of 4’406 feet above sea level. This imposing mountain provides an impressive background to a traditional Scottish craft.
Oban – Oban distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland – and it is physically and spiritually at the heart of Oban: the “Gateway to the Isles”
Catherine can highly recommend their Devil’s Staircase Spiced Gin with a splash of Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic, a slice of orange and a couple of cardamom pods.
